With couples in mind, the pad can be paired with a second MondoKing for a double sleeping pad. The pad offers an R-value of 7.0 for maximum year-round comfort thanks to thick thermal foam and StrataCore construction, which uses a continuous layer of thermal foam nestled between alternating ridges of air and foam (R-value measures the material’s ability to insulate; the higher the R-value, the warmer the sleeping pad). Perfect for car camping, expedition basecamps, RVs, and boats, it also makes an excellent guest bed at home. The stable mattress offers maximum stability, cushioning, and protection from rocks, roots, and uneven ground surfaces. All styles have dual valves that allow compressible foam core to expand and inflate when unpacked, and all styles mate perfectly with other Therm-a-Rest MondoKing mattresses with a similar style. Available in three styles: Equipped with the Standard Valve with the 2018 or 2019 model, or equipped with the TwinLock Valve the sleeping pad has dedicated "in" and "out" valves to make inflating and deflating the pad easier than ever. Standard Valve models are 4.0 inches thick inflated and include a stuff sack, and TwinLock Valve models are 4.5 inches thick inflated and include a stuff sack that can also be used as a pump sack (for easier, breath-free pad inflation).
